Techniques for Improvisation: Native American Style Flute and Recorder
Improvise in a minor scale with easy fingering
This short teaching tool is an alternative to traditional recorder lessons and encourages students to perform original compositions. Designed for elementary school teachers, no musical background is necessary to play a video, lead a discussion, facilitate hands on playing activities, and explore mindful music. Concepts of Native American culture contribute to songs and stories.
Five sections include origins, breathing, mechanics, scale, and improvisation.
